Chain of Pearls

Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) was a Bengali poet, philosopher, artist, playwright, composer and novelist. Rabindranath Tagore was Asia’s first Nobel Prize winner. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1913 for his book Gitanjali. "because of his profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse, by which, with consummate skill, he has made his poetic thought, expressed in his own English words.

Gitanjali or the 'Song offerings' in English translation is a volume of 103 poems selected by Tagore from his several Bengali books of Poetry. It is the poetry of God as an experience and God for Tagore. Sometimes the poet addresses the God as the Mother-Mother, I shall weave a chain of pearls for thy neck with my tears of sorrow.‘Gitanjali’-83 I love this poem. It reads..

Mother, I shall weave a chain of pearls for thy neck
with my tears of sorrow.
The stars have wrought their anklets of light to deck thy feet,
but mine will hang upon thy breast.
Wealth and fame come from thee
and it is for thee to give or to withhold them.
But this my sorrow is absolutely mine own,
and when I bring it to thee as my offering
thou rewardest me with thy grace.
Rabindranath Tagore

A demonstration of eternal gratitude for all the readers to follow. The narrator tells his mother that he shall weave a chain of pearls for her neck with his tears of sorrow. Most probably it is because from his birth he has seen how his mother slaved for him and mad innumerable sacrifices on his behalf. The stars have wrought; made or fashioned in the specified way; their anklets; an ornament worn round an ankle; a sock that reaches just above the ankle; of light to deck her feet, but his will hang upon her breast. The stars above are the heavenly witnesses and have instructed him the manner in which the chain should be made. This would be like a reminding souvenir of his love for her. She is like a goddess to him who raised, molded and shaped him up till the present day.

The greatest wealth in life is the unbroken bond of love between a mother and her son. The material one comes later. Wealth and fame come from her and it is for her to give or to withhold them. At the right time when he is ready to take the burden of his own life upon his shoulders, she would bless him with wisdom, strength, confidence and moral support. His only desire is to see her happy and always smiling. But this sorrow is absolutely his own for he has learnt how to bear his own sadness and misfortunes and when he bring it to her as his offering she rewards him with her grace; elegance of movement: courteous good. Only her sweet words and her tender love can mend his broken heart. The chain of pearls is the crowning glory that he will put around his mother’s neck.

The breeze at dawn!

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
People are going back and forth across the door sill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.
~Rumi
There is such a beautiful message of Jelaluddin Rumi, the 13th century mystic poet, was truly one of the most passionate and profound poets in history.

I love this poem... it is a great source for beautiful inspiration. The word "The breeze at dawn H as secrets to tell you "really captured me and it’s just so beautiful. It will inspire me to get out of bed at that magical time of day. This poem enters my mind and-it reminds me to make the most of my day, to be positive and to be assertive. I love the personification of The Breeze and the concept of the where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open.It fills me with encouragement and excitement. When I’m trying to figure out how to determine my life purpose and what I want to do  this message  helps me
.
I have been an early riser since I was a child. No need for an alarm my sleep patterns settled into a natural rhythm. In morning times I made time for walk, meditative prayer and exercise and consequently found I was able to complete important tasks early in the day and maintain focus. I believe in the magic of the early mornings. Away from the noise and pollution of the city, the home makes a favorite stay for a person like me who respect nature and knows to appreciate its beauty. I still am blessed to be closer to nature. Early morning I go for a walk. Watching early each sunrise brings a lovely surprise. Every day I feel It is a chance for new beginning. Remaining calm time Watch the sun is starting to rise. We can see a spot of light at the horizon, as if the sun is rising right out of the hill. I See the light growing as the sun begins to rise above the horizon. Small streaks of light shine into the sky, as the sky grows lighter and lighter with the growing dawn.

( This Pic was taken near my home)
A soft gentle breeze crosses my face might stir my emotions. I look around and enjoy the quietness of God's peace and the soft gentle pace. The trees are in full bloom, the leaves ready to fall. See the birds that are active early in the morning. Some fly overhead... some are already diving into the water looking for fish. Other birds simply sit quietly. They are enjoying the dawn as well. Everything around you seems to be waking up. Getting ready for a lovely day.I can feel some peaceful waves calm my mind and Rejuvenate  my senses I soak in the sunshine and warm gentle breezes Every day.

As the sun comes up and begins a new day I feel the power of that creative energy... It is like a bunch of whole new things..I realized the Rumi’s word The breeze at dawn Has secrets to tell you Then I hear Rumi saying: You must ask for what you really want.”This sounds so simple, but to ask “what [we] really want?” can be extremely difficult. We may never have asked this basic question of ourselves,. What do I want? What must I do to have it? How would I feel when I have it? So, I must know to ask what I really want  that  Makes  me Happy!

where the two worlds touch; the door is round and open.
These two  lines are portrait beautiful to me,. May we consider the beauty, love, and the wonder life has to offer; may we choose our paths based on what feels right and good and true to our souls The door is round and open and it will be a some sort of gateway to God is how these lines feel to me.
So;The breezes at dawn  It have Lot secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep!

Super BrainYoga/ Thoppukaranam

Thoppukaranam
It’s normal to forget things every now and then. We’ve all misplaced our keys, blanked on an acquaintance’s name, or forgotten a phone number we’ve dialed a hundred times before. When we’re young, we don’t tend to pay much mind to these lapses, but as we grow older, sometimes we worry about what they mean. Past two months I am suffering from memory loss while asked the doctor for reason He said Memory loss has multiple causes including a number of chronic medical and psychological conditions, trauma, medications, drug or alcohol abuse, and infections, Depression. or due to frustration. He asked me to do Super Brain Yoga a fast, simple, drug-free method of increasing mental energy”. While him explaining the procedure as I understand this is none other than THOPPUKARANAM.

Thoppukaranam is a traditional practice in Indian Schools, accepted from Gurukula system of education to make the child sit and stand catching both the ears with hands crossing each other symbolizing punishment for lethargy, laziness and not memorizing or grasping and to improve brain power etc. Most people do it in front of idol of Ganesha by crossing their arms and holding the ear lobes between the tips of the fore and middle finger; next they bend their knees and get up–doing this three times. This prayer is called thoppu karanam.

“Thorpi: Karnam ” is thoppukarnam in its corrupted form. Which word, is related to the Sanskrit “Dvau-bhuja-karnam”“Thorpi = means with the hands, and “Karnam” = means ears. Hence “Thorpikarnam” means holding the ears with the hands. Each and every performance followed by Hindu culture is backed by some scientific truth. Thoppukaranam’ activates the acupuncture points at right and left ears thereby activating the right and left brains.  Fifteen minutes of  ’Thoppukaranam’ increases the brain power immensely according to sources. The physical body is a very complicated subtle electronic equipment. When a proper energy wiring connection is made, it produces the right results.

The right ear lobe corresponds to the left brain. The left ear lobe corresponds to the right brain.
When the right ear lobe is gently squeezed with the left thumb and left index finger with the thumb outside, it produces the necessary energy connection. This connection causes the left brain and pituitary gland to become energized and activated. Similarly, when the left ear lobe is gently squeezed with the right thumb and right index finger with the thumb outside, it produces the necessary energy connection, which causes the right brain and pineal gland to become energized and activated. which causes the right brain and pineal gland to become energized and activated. For energizing and activating the Left Brain and the Right Brain, the left arm must be inside, while the right arm must be outside.

Superbrain Yoga not only energizes and activates the brain, but also assists in balancing the energies of the heart, throat, ajna, (center of the brain-eyebrow center )forehead and crown energy centers.( The Crown energy center (also called the spiritual heart) located on the top of the head is the entry point to higher spiritual consciousness.) Synchronizes the right and left side of the brain to improve function and promote calmness, energizing of cells and nervous system, sharper mind, focus, additional energy .This amazing yoga which you can do anywhere, anytime, any age. In my childhood daily I put Thoppu karanam in front of God. Later whenever knowingly or unknowingly If I done mistake I put 11 thoppukaranamas saying sorry to god.. Now for gaining memory I am doing as exercise.

I downloaded a picture, copied it on a sheet, after sketching the basic I came across the real challenge and started painting. I messed up at number of places. In the end the picture did turn out to look a nice. I tried my level best. ...For coloring I Used Metallic and 3D colors Here is my first ever Egyptian painting....!!
Whatever I learned about Egyptian art. ... I am very glad to share it
 Egyptian Painting
I have never been to Egypt, but I am always interested in n these magnificent structure, of pyramids , sphinx have always been fascinated by Ancient Egypt. I am very much interested in Egyptian painting. So I learned about Egyptian art .We learned a little bit about pyramids, the Sphinx, and Egyptian art. Paintings that decorated the walls of the tombs in Egypt were intended to keep alive the history. These wall-paintings provide in extraordinarily vivid picture of life as it was lived in Egypt thousands of years ago.

 Egyptian goddess
Egyptian art / Painting had a deep meaning and more expressive and evocative, of endowing the work with magical life. All Egyptian ancient art was coloured. Egyptian Art - Colors
The colors used in paintings traditionally showed that the body of a man was painted as a dark reddish-brown color whereas the body of a woman was painted as lighter, yellowish-brown color. These differences in colors represented the mainly outdoor life of a man as opposed to the more secluded lifestyle of a woman. Six basic colors were used in Ancient Egyptian art - white, black, red, yellow, blue and green. A tiny pestle and mortar was used for grinding colors. The colors used were symbolic and all had different meanings.
White - White represented purity, power and greatness, a sacred color
Black - Black represented death and the night
Red - Red represented life and victory. It was also used to convey anger
Yellow - Yellow was often used to represent gold and therefore used to convey that the subject was imperishable and indestructible. The eternal color used to depict the the sun god
Blue - Blue represented water, the sky, life, fertility and re-birth
Green - Green was the color of vegetation and represented new life

The symbolism of the colors was used to great effect when depicting the images and characteristics of the various Ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses.  Tomb paintings were of everyday life until the New Kingdom about 1550 BC to 1020 BC.  During the New Kingdom the the paintings showed different levels of the Egyptian society as well as items the deceased would need in the after life.
Egyptian depiction of people is very consistent in their proportions and views of  the people.  The reason is that the Egyptians used a formula to paint people.  "Egyptians artists used this method to keep figures in proportion.  They divided a sheet of papyrus into nineteen rows of squares.  Then they drew the figure using the first three rows of squares for the area between the forehead and the neck, the next for the shoulder to the knee, and the last six for the lower limbs and feet."

Symbols and Definitions:
The ancient Egyptians used Symbols for protection, just like in modern Egypt with our own set of symbols – such as the "Khamsa", which is a palm (sometimes with an eye in the middle) that we wear as a pendant for protection against the evil eye. They also believed in the magical quality of symbolism, using them not only for protection, but also for luck and prosperity.
Egyptian Painting Techniques:
Egyptian painting was carried out within strict confines and rules - ancient Egypt thrived on control and planning. master craftsmen and sketched out on papyrus paper, then they added a grid-system of vertical and horizontal lines onto the papyrus. Once they had a clearly outlined composition divided into sections by the grid, they could then just scale it up to the size of the wall.
To do that correctly, they would also apply the grid-system to the wall in relation to the plan they have on paper. They would cover pieces of string in red ink and stretch it over the walls to form the lines... Once the grid on the wall was completed, it would be easy to copy the images onto it. he representation of different objects and events in Egyptian art:
For Examples:
A group of Egyptians would usually have their feet all pointing in the same direction and would be depicted in well-organized rows.
•Places within Egypt had a straight ground line while places outside the borders would have wavy ground lines.
•Pools of water would have the fish drawn on top of them
The brushes that were used were made out of reeds with chewed up ends to make a fuzzy soft side to dip in the paint. They also used bunched up plant fibers tied together. They mixed the paints by grinding and processing certain minerals and compounds, such as:
Charcoal and soot to make black
    Calcium compounds to make white
    Azurite to make blue
Iron oxide to make red and yellow
Malachite to make green, or mixing blue and yellow

Most of the minerals used in Egyptian painting were found inside Egypt, although some had to be extracted from Sinai and other far away areas. Ancient Egyptian writing, especially Hieroglyphics, was a form of art. The glyphs are little pictures of things such as snakes, water, vultures and women. Their combinations and directions had different meanings and they were a major part of wall reliefs – explaining stories and relaying incantations. Some of the most important historical and medical records are found on EgyptianPapyrus Art.

A little bit Of Egyptian painting I learned from various sites. ... I am very glad to share it so that everybody can know about ancient culture.
